Camera Obscura – French Navy

I heard “French Navy” by Camera Obscura at the Tampa International Airport. Things have gone downhill from there so far. The video is wonderful in depicting a whirlwind romance and for hinting at rough waves ahead, reflecting the line in the chorus, “I wanted to control it, but love, I couldn’t hold it”. I love how Tracyanne Campbell barely sings the word “heart” in the line, “I was criticized for lending out my heart”, as if it hurts to get it out. The band and their videos pretty much look exactly how you’d imagine, don’t they. The whole album, My Maudlin Career is just as great as this song. Full of heartbreak, strings, and reverb.

Horribly Injured Americans Against Obamacare

I was starting to be on the fence about this Obamacare shit, but this video put me over the edge. The government shouldn’t be helping its people, it should be focusing on bombing those who disagree with us! When is Operation Rest Of The Brown People?

Yes I liked Twilight.

Confirmed for the Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack, new songs by Thom Yorke, Bon Iver, Death Cab For Cutie, Grizzly Bear, and The Killers. I feel some sort of strange vindication.

If you want to know how this can be, the “Music Supervisor” for the movie is Alexandra Patsavas. She’s been responsible for TV shows like The OC, Grey’s Anatomy, Gossip Girl etc., including getting The Flaming Lips on the original 90210

The Greatest Commercial Ever

I got reminded of this again. Christina Ricci, Dennis Hopper, “Hang On To Your Ego” by the Beach Boys, and directed by the Coen Brothers. Oh, and it’s for Gap.

Dear Kanye,

You’ll never get a dime of my money.

Love, Sean

P.S. Sped up R&B samples isn’t that revolutionary.

In case Megan Fox needs reminding…

Megan Fox says she’ll never do a nude scene. I think Megan Fox forgot what the point of Megan Fox is.
